Help & useful information
How it works & FAQs
Does sending an enquiry book a visit?
No. Choose your tasks, completion dates and timings, then send your enquiry. We’ll review availability, access and the work, and agree the price with you. Your booking is confirmed only after you accept the written details and we confirm acceptance.
Check the on-screen enquiry reference after submitting. No payment is needed to enquire.
How are dates, tasks and return visits priced?
Choose a date for each task and add another date if it is needed again. Your review groups tasks by date and visit. Each day is priced from its own tasks; returning after an initial visit counts as another separately charged visit.
Quick Visits are estimated at £14 for 1–3 standard tasks, Standard Visits at £20 for 4–5, and Extended Visits at £25 for 6 tasks, up to 40 minutes. Seven or more tasks need a personal quote. Lawn work is assessed separately and starts from £25 when it safely fits within 40 minutes, including setup and clearing.
All estimates are subject to review. We agree the final work and price before booking and agree any extra work or charge with you first.
Can you put bins out and bring them back in?
Yes—select either task or both and give each its own date and timing. Both on the same day require two visits, because we need to return after collection. For these two tasks alone, the estimate is £28: two Quick Visits at £14 each.
What does the £52 monthly package cover?
Four Quick Visits on four separate agreed days across the month. Tasks are shared between visits; the whole list is not repeated at every visit. The current estimate allows up to 3 standard tasks per visit and up to 11 in total.
Additional visits, lawn work or a plan outside those limits need a tailored quote. Four monthly visits does not mean a visit in every calendar week.
How do I pay?
Payment in advance is preferred, once we’ve confirmed your booking and agreed the price. No payment is needed to send an enquiry.
The £52 four-visit monthly package is payable in full before the first visit, unless we’ve agreed cash collection.
Cash is available by prior agreement. Leave the agreed amount at the collection point arranged with us, and we’ll collect it when leaving your visit. For the monthly package, leave the full £52 for collection when we leave the first visit.
Cash payment is confirmed once we’ve collected and checked the amount.
Will you arrive at an exact time?
Ordinary visits take place within the agreed time window. Exact-time attendance, contractor access and waiting time must be agreed separately before the booking is confirmed.
Before your visit
What should I arrange for access?
You must be authorised to arrange entry. Agree a key handover, key-safe arrangement or authorised person to let us in. Please do not put alarm or key-safe codes in this enquiry form; we arrange sensitive access details separately after accepting a booking.
Tell us about parking, entry difficulties and hazards. Physical key holding and return arrangements must be agreed separately.
What information do you need about my pet?
Provide feeding instructions, supply locations, relevant health or behaviour risks, your vet’s details and an emergency contact. Tell your emergency contact you have given us their details.
We agree the tasks and emergency authority before accepting pet care. Medication needs separate express agreement and appropriate competence and cover. Entering an instruction does not mean it has been accepted.
What is outside the service?
These are short practical visits, not personal or medical care, childcare, veterinary treatment, dog walking, extended pet sitting, overnight stays or security guarding. Skilled repairs, heavy lifting, work at height and hazardous tasks are excluded.
A home check is a visual observation during a visit, not a guarantee against loss or damage. Empty-home insurance requirements must be discussed and expressly agreed; a visit does not automatically satisfy your policy.
What should I prepare for lawn work or an unexpected problem?
For lawn work, agree equipment and waste arrangements and make the area accessible and clear of pet waste and hidden hazards. Work depends on suitability, weather and safe conditions.
Provide a reachable contact and an alternative emergency contact. Pet emergency choices, veterinary authority and any spending limit are agreed separately. We cannot promise an emergency response time. After a visit, we send a completion update and any agreed photos.
Changes, concerns & contact
What if I need to change or cancel?
Contact us as soon as possible with your booking reference and requested change. We’ll confirm availability and any refund or payment due in writing. Any applicable cancellation conditions must be provided before you accept a booking; your statutory rights are unaffected.
If we cannot attend, we’ll contact you as soon as reasonably possible to discuss an alternative or a refund for the service not provided.
How do I raise a concern or complaint?
Email while_youre_away@outlook.com with your name, booking reference or visit date, what happened and the outcome you would like.
We aim to acknowledge complaints within two working days and give a written outcome within ten working days. If we need longer, we’ll explain why and give an update date. We’ll investigate and explain any action or remedy. You can ask us to reconsider anything unresolved; your statutory rights are unaffected.
For personal-information complaints, we will in any event acknowledge within 30 days and investigate and respond without unjustifiable delay. You may also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.
For an urgent pet or property concern, use the contact route agreed for your booking. This inbox is not an emergency response service.
